Fadimata Walet Alassane comes from the Tuareg people, a nomadic pastoralist group indigenous to Burkina Faso. Fadimata is the co-founder of the Tinhinan foundation, named for the Queen Mother of the Touareg, a non-profit foundation focusing on indigenous rights and sustainable development. Fadimata is also an artist.
